Have a neighbor/friend who teachs gun safety and training names Fred.

He had a son who walked up on someone trying to steal his 1996 chevy corsica. Bad guy A stopped at gun point, bad guy B came around a corner and shot the son 6 times in the back.

So Fred will tell you all about how he lost his son to a $2500 car. He has no other kids, no grandchildren, but he does still own a nearly mint condition POS chevy corsica....

So yeah unless my family is in danger, someone can steal everything have. My crap isn't worth potentially not seeing my children grow up.

If no deputy is on duty it maybe 12 hours until a sheriff shows up here.
I totally understand your thoughts and definitely respect that. Im old, no kids, pretty darn tired of deadbeats.
Several years ago i found a rope around a cows neck. A pretty worthless teanager, but of adult age, lived with his grandparents across the road. I had a big pond on the farm. I went to his house and told him if i caught someone messing with my cows i would tie concrete blocks onto their legs and sink them into the pond for the turtles to eat. I never accused him. The boy stayed in trouble, been in prison most of his life, but never bothered anything on my place again.

I've given people warnings and they have seen it as a challenge. I don't warn people anymore.

I have to agree witht he statement about not confronting them. The guy was really lucky.

I'm very comfortable with guns but I will always retreat unless I'm backed in to a corner and forced to fight out.

My cousin came home and found some one in their house. Her husband has a shotgun so he goes and finds some one going through their medicine cabinet. Can't remember the whole deal bit thinks they heard him and tries to hide. Any ways they meet up in the house and the person pops out and he right now his barrel. It's a teenage kid, like 15, his daughters age stealing persciption meds. He was so shaken up my cousin said he was in tears. He was on squeeze away from killing a 15yr old who went to school with his daughter in a small town. The kid grew up down the road. Families were all friends. It was a bad deal all around. He said it himself, next time they will back up and watch from afar while they call the cops.

Fast forward, shortly after that I come home to my door open. My son was young and had left it open before. I backed up and called the cops. I told them the same thing that it was likely my son. They were super nice and checked it out.

Both these were about that time when the story of the kid in the hoodie was all over the news and I also knew I did not need that in my life.

LE is NOT there to defend you or your property or family. Even if you live next door to a police station, they can't be there to defend you in time. The right to defense is guranteed in our Constitution. LE is getting better and better at solving crime, but a man that depends on LE to defend him or his family, is putting his and their lives in danger. There are very few regular police, deputies, etc, that know what I know, that have had the training and experience that I have had, that I would trust to defend me or even have my 6. Here in Ga, there is no law requiring retreat. You can use deadly force to protect yourself and others, from death OR bodily harm. You are not required to take an ass beating in Ga. You may be 6'8", 300 lbs of solid muscle. You can stand there and cuss me, call my momma names, whatever. If my 6', 190 lb, 68 yr old-butt takes a swing at you, you can legally blow me away. I am, if I remember, 12 or so years past my last fight. I have no intention of going hand to hand with anyone, anymore. (Well, maybe if we were on a bank , dock, or something, where I could take them quickly to deep water, I might.) I will allow no one to lay a finger on me, at my age now. I will not lay a hand on another man first. I will not start any kind of altercation. But if you try to lay a hand on me, ( or a friend or family) you will get two center mass and the third between the eyes.

Warren, in Augusta GA i had a male state trooper and a lady police officer guarding our fuel trucks 24 hours a day. I told the lady to go get some rest, that i was well prepared. She said its illigal for me to be prepared. I told her my concealed carry said otherwise. She said i was correct but still guarded us. I think she felt more threatened than i did.

Ga is a Constitutional Carry state now. No permit needed. Been that way about 6 years, I think. Before that, you had to have a carry permit, but it didn't matter if you carried open or concealed. The permit allowed you to carry loaded hand guns and knives with over a 6 inch blade. You can still get a permit if you want to, and most of us that travel out of state do. We have reciprocity with 28 states, and some of those still require a permit, so that's why I renew mine. And because with a carry permit, you don't have to do the federal background checks when you make a purchase. And, even when we had a permit law, since the 90's you didn't have to have a permit to have a loaded handgun in your vehicle. Your house has always been your "castle" in Ga. Someone comes in your house, you could blow them away legally. Well, in Atlanta in the 80's and 90's, there were the "squeegie" people. They hung out at traffic lights downtown, and when you were waiting on a red light to change, they'd run out with a bucket and a squeegie, and try to wash your windows, then expect you to pay them. One day about 1990 or 92, one of them did this to a state legislator, on his way into a General Assembly session. He blew his horn, shook his head, and waived them off. Thug opened the door, jerked him out,. and beat him up., and robbed him. He got to the capitol and that very day they passed what is called the "squeegie" law. Basically it says, that a vehicle you occupy is considered the same as your house. Someone tries to open your car door, you can blow them away, and you didn't need a permit to have a loaded handgun in your vehicle. So that gal popo didn't know what she was talking about. Was she City of Augusta popo?

I work rotating 12s so the wife is home alone allot at night. Several years back she had someone knock on the door around 11pm. She opened it without thinking and it was two kids about 15 yo. She immediately shut the door but they kept knocking asking to use the bathroom. She kept telling them to go away which they finally did. 80% of the people we told that to said they would have shot them through the door. Turned out it was our neighbors (couple miles up the road) two dumb kids out screwing around. We don't know them and thought it was better to let it go. The wife did have a gun.

Think your safe? Look up Ruby Ridge.

I know a guy in Cali who a venzulean gang just stole a lot of his high end stuff. The cops finally came after a awhile and told him... "even if we found them in here with all your stuff, how do we know its not their stuff?" "All we could do if we caught them would be to charge them with unlawful entry and anything they had on them belongs to them."

wow.

The best Christmas present I have ever gotten my son got me some Reo link 110v (Wi-Fi or cable) camaras and I can just about zoom in and see the white in somebody's eyes 24/7/365, I have 360 view that is stored for a month including the road also they work on my cell phone/computer and if uneasy can check from anywhere. Also, in the dark I can make out most. I picked up a 1911 .45 a few days ago to go along with others and it stays close by. Also, I have a dog that weights 120 lbs. that is very owner loyalty.

Here is my 1911 as I have shot Kimbers and Colts and this thing to me shoots just as good. Its cost on the lower end so if I put a scratch on it no big deal. Also have some fancy grips coming. One magazine with ball ammo and the other with defense ammo.

If you don't have cameras, they are nice. I put them up and Allen set them up. From anywhere a cell phone works you can see. I am bad to leave the gate open at the house so now I can check to see if it is closed if not around. Thes are on the corners, and I can see the road vehicles 24/7 for 30 days storage. If it is raining, where I am at, I can check and see if it is raining at home. I wasin Pennington and it rained 4 inches and it was sunshining at home.

Is there a monthly charge? What would a system cost?

No monthly charge and less than $500 as I have 4 cameras and getting more. At school the wife can watch my every move with her cell phone. The employees there some that pay for systems are very impressed with these and she can talk through them when I am outside if she sees me.

I am setting at the computer in real time right now watching outside as the dog is eating some bones I just put out. I can zoom each of these in. It is a lot plainer than this shows.

I would like to have one at my cattle barn. I have decent phone service with Cricket there. What phone service does it require?
