CARLTON, Mich., Sept. 4 (UPI) -- A Minnesota casino said it set a Guinness World Record by cooking up a 2,014-pound bacon cheeseburger.
The Black Bear Casino Resort near Carlton said the burger concocted Sunday handily defeated the previous record of 881 pounds, 13 ounces and a Guinness adjudicator was on hand to verify the record

Mysterious shipwreck washes onto Alabama shore, believed to be from Civil War

Hurricane Isaac has washed the remains of a blockade-runner vessel onto the shores of an Alabama beach, and many believe it could be a Civil War-era vessel, dating to 1862, according to the Birmingham News.

19% of New Jersey voters have tattoos, AKA TRAMP STAMPS!

Nearly 20 percent of New Jersey's registered voters have at least one tattoo, a new poll conducted by Rutgers University ahead of the final season of MTV's "Jersey Shore" finds.
According to the Rutgers-Eagleton Institute poll, 19 percent of nearly 1,000 registered voters in the state said they have at least one tattoo. And 37 percent of so-called millennials born after 1980 are inked.
Of those without tattoos, just 8 percent plan to get one, the study found. And while 75 percent say their opinion of others is not affected by body art, nearly a quarter "say they think worse of people with tattoos."

some people have to much time on their hands.....and are all people with a tatoo tramps....as I don't think I am...mine is on my ankle inside boots or under trousers most often. a mad thing when I was younger. I do hate a lot of tats where they can be seen all the time.

I PLANTED WHAT?

A 74-year-old farmer in a small town in southern Germany planted more than 1,000 cannabis plants in the mistaken belief they were sunflowers, police told NBC News Wednesday.
Alerted by worried locals, German police visited the man in Moembris, a town in the southern state of Bavaria, on Tuesday and told him to destroy the crop on his one-acre field. The man, whose name was not released, usually grows potatoes in the field.

The man told officers that he had scattered half a sack of old bird seed and was taken aback by the fast growth of the plants -- some of which were quickly as tall as 10 feet -- but still did not realize what they actually were.
