My wife and I are in Vegas on a business trip ( :) ). At any rate, we ate at a place called "The Burger Bar". No Kidding, on the menu they listed a "100% Hereford Burger" raised in Topinish, in Yakima Valley, Washington. Big build up top to the eating experience. The next item down on the menu was a 100% Black Angus burger.... no hype just the burger and fixings listed.... for 50 cents more than the Hereford????? Same weight, same fixings, same bun.... but if I wanted angus it would cost 50 cents more than the Hereford (I assume it was CAB)....... :? :???: :???: :(

What a rip... Yes I had the Hereford out of prestine Topinish of Yakima Valley ... then put the 50 cents back into the slots. My wife had a Kobe burger for only $6 more than the angus or Hereford  :( .

Just a laugh,
Alan

Alan - That is rediculus, what kind of nimrod would pay $.50 more for a burger.

You mind me asking what a hereford burger and an angus burger sell for in Vegas?

There's this little beer joint in the town across the mtn from us that has the best burgers I've ever ate, if Big Mama's cookin', that is. Kind of place with an outside bathroom and a smoke cloud thicker than pea soup. Wife and I can both have cheeseburgers and the fixin's with fries and a sweet tea each and it comes out to 10 bucks and change. I always leave a $5 tip.

The good old days of Vegas and Reno are gone... no more $1.99 steak and eggs. My HEREFORD burger was $12.50 without fries and the black anger... I mean angus burger was $13, without fries. This is not a cheap fun town anymore. :  But after 4 days in town I'm even at the tables..... so I'm a big time winner! :D

Aw, come on. It's only 50 cents. :D Somebody has to reimburse the packer and feeder for paying more for black cattle at the sale barn.

I doubt it was CAB or they would have said so. Hope you get home a big winner.

To me, a burger is a burger, no matter what the breed (and I have Angus). burger is nothing but the leftovers that don't make good steak so who cares what kind it is as long as its from an animal that was raised well!

I agree about a burger being a burger... but who knows if its from an animal that was raised well? To me, as long as its COOKED right, thats what matters.

they ought too just blend the meat together, and make it a black baldy burger... now them's good eating... call it the "peace maker burger" no one can argue over :p

Now you're talking.....the thing is only gonna be about 1/8" thick anyway so there should be no fuss about the taste....matter of fact you probably will hardly taste it anyway.

Not to my knowledge, we come down every couple of years for a convention. 8 or 10 years ago the "Sarhara" (casino) had a buffet for $6, but I don't know if it still up and going. The buffets at the casino's we visit run between $21 and $26 for a meal (pretty much standard). The good old days are gone. Rooms in Vegas start at around $160. :(

It's been almost 15 years since I was in Vegas. Didn;t lose anything there so I don;t plan on ever going back

I have a friend that drove to Vegas with his girlfriend last Thursday. They got in a big blow up with each other yesterday and she left him there. :D I've got to go pick him up at the airport in a few hours. He's one of my rowdy friends I don't think will ever settle down.

It's been about 15 years since I've been to Vegas and I don't feel like I left anything behind I need to go get. I like going to the national finals rodeo but I'm not much of a gambler. If I ever do go back I'll have to have me a hereford burger. :D

I can think of worse places to be abandoned!
