i have seen the river near me flood pastures and the ants whould cover the fence rows it looked like you painted them black.

I saw them for the first time here in north Texas in 1997. Got a round baler the next year. There's nothing quite as nice as bucking sq. bales of hay covered in fire ants.

As far as treatment in the pastures and hayfields, I don't do anything. My disc mower buzzes right on through them. Besides, all of them ant beds help aerate my soil.. :lol:
