Any of you Texans (or Okies or CA's :) ) plant turnips for cattle grazing in the fall and winter?

If so, can you provide the name and phone number of your seed source?

Which variety do you plant? And about how many pounds per acre would you plant, say if you were to boadcast on lightly disced ground?
 
try welter seed and honey....www.welterseed.com

Pasja brassica works excellent for me with bruiser annual ryegrass.

3-4 pounds of pasja with 20-25lbs of ryegrass

if you rotationaly graze them you can get 2-3 grazings. (graze down to 4 inches and move you animals to allow regrowth)

It may be interesting to research Japanese radish(see thread Japanese radish) in your area. If you can grow turnips you can grow radish there and the tonnage on radish should be greater.
