Great site. I have a question of terminology. What does it mean for a cow to be "open"? How about "fresh"? Any help on these breeding terms would be appreciated. Thanks.

Open means not bred or not "pregnant". I'm not sure about fresh. In what context was the word fresh used?

Freshen is usually a Dairy term, meaning the cow will begin giving milk. Most beef people use calving instead. Many terms are quite different between the dairy and beef industry although they are both talking about cows. Just my though.
