I used to know what some old terms meant and I've forgotten because I haven't heard them in a long time. Recently, some came up.

Add to the list if you think of some

What is a strawboss?

From Wentworth & Flexner, Dictionary of American Slang, 1960 edition:

: "'Origin of term: the boss attended to the grain going into the thresher; the second-man watched after the straw coming out and hence had little to do.' H. F. Barker. Colloq. since c1900; orig. hobo use."

What about the word "bollixed"? Does anyone else use that word?

The verb...Bollixed..meaning...to make a mess of, destroy ruin.

a polite way of saying Bo****ks, or f.... up, still don't think it is Lady Like though. or polite in front of the kids. even if they do use the words.
