My calves are weaned, 3 sets of shots, preconditioned for about 45 days. Feedlot buys direct off farm. Only had a handful this year, but averaged 785# at delivery x $1.50 = $1177.50
That's great profit for me - steers being my bottom end sales. These are Jan/Feb calves sold 1st week in October.

I was at the local sale this past Tuesday.....Somerville, TN......First lot of calves through>>>>10 also identical black steers averaging 450 lbs........$164 Next lot of 8 black heifers.....lighter weight but all from same farm.......$142
I didn't stay for the rest of the sale......these were packaged to lead out the cattle and give all others "hope".....
