I have an older Guernsey cow that lost her calf about 8 weeks ago. She dried up fine (kept a very close eye on her for mastitis), but yesterday I noticed that she had cuts on one of the teats, and some heat in her udder in that quarter. In checking her closer, I saw that she had a swelling way at the top, between her back legs. It's soft, and doesnt seem painful. She's not off her feed (you'd have to cut off her head to get her to quit eating) but I'm worried about her having a bad infection.<p>What would you suggest I treat her with? Can it be mastitis this late after drying up?
