Sweet Corn

I bought sweet corn yesterday for 16 cents a ear at Walmart. How much did the farmer get for these at his level.

If they had yellow shucks, he was docked and maybe got a nickel an ear--if they had the coveted indicator of high yield, elevated sugar, and perfectly aligned and full to the brim kernels: black shucks--- he got 80¢ per ear and the retailer simply took a loss just to get people into the store to try the anointed black shuck corn--------never underestimate the power of a black hide on anything.

If I read the market report right, sweet corn out of Florida was $10.10/crate on 5-15-15. At 4-4.5 dozen per crate, that's 19-20 cents per ear.
