would ddg do good for feeder calves that i am tring to put weight on.or is it to rich

I have some steers I have been overwintering on fescue and 5 lbs of DDG. I weighed a couple the other day. They gained 2.3lbs over a hundred days and I didn't feed them anything but grass the first 45 days.
