Summer garden 2021

Help Support CattleToday:

Prowl H2O has done a good job for me on seedling Johnsongrass in the garden, but won't touch rhizome Johnsongrass or nutsedge. After 3 months or so, it wears off enough that pigweed starts making a comeback, but by then, the watermelons, winter squash, and sweet potatoes have pretty much run out and covered bare ground, so it's just a plant here and there.

Pigs won't bother the house. We grew cucumbers in an abandoned chicken yard once. They grew huge. You wouldn't believe how big. Bigger! Bigger!

Had one of the best gardens this year I ever had. About the only thing disappointing was the early broccoli took a hit from an early dry spell in May.

This is the time of year when it pays off.
