subsoiler on pasture

Do any of you use a subsoiler on your pastures? If so how much will it help,thanks.
 
Around here it gives you alot of new rocks to pick up and fix sink holes with.
Actually some guys do it around here and swear by it but with all these rocks it's not feasible in most places.
Any alternative?
 
I decided I would try it once, because no one else I knew did. I made 1 pass across the pasture and 4 months later the grass on that strip was a foot taller than the rest of the pasture. I am leery of trying in on some places, for fear of starting a wash.
 
This is something I did Three years ago.Then a drought hit,Killed Just about all the grass
every where I went. About 10" on each side of the cut.

Something to say about timing...maybe?
