What's the worst that can happen if you give a 5 cc Bar-Vac7 blackleg (killed virus) intramuscularly instead of subcutaneous as noted on the label?

No, actually the worst that can happen is a knot in the muscle, decreasing the value of the carcass. Blackleg vaccine is one of the worst offenders, thus directions to give SQ.

Thank you Vicki!!! Beef producers need to understand that improper injections subsequently cost all producers. Deductions on the kill line have an overall effect! Please, please, please follow label directions!

It would seem to me that if given other than label instructions that the vaccine might not work and you may have a calf or calves that could still be stricken by Blackleg. In other words the 20 cent mistake helps you lose a $400 calf.
