Coming home just now I knew there was a storm rolling in. Coming over the hill where the fire started was a huge very black cloud. As we got closer the cloud got blacker and lower. So dense you couldn't see across the valley. We started getting hit by rain. The rain was full of ash that the wind had picked up. The wind was coming from the left. So much ash landed on driver's side window that you can't see out that window. Half a mile further the rain turned clean. I guess we were to the point where the ground had enough water hit it that the wind no longer picked up the ash. Once we got home we had to run into the house as it was pouring. Ten minutes later it stopped raining. But enough fell to make a few puddles in the driveway. I have seen some green grass starting to show up in the black so a little rain is a real good thing. Lots of thunder and lightning but off to the south and west where it is black for miles. Hit out there all you want lightning, there is nothing left to burn.
