is there a set fee stockyards charge to buy cattle for people?
i know our sale barn dont charge people to buy cattle for them.now if you call an order buyer.an get him to buy for you.he will charge you like $5 a hd that they buy for you.

talked to the manager at the local barn, and he said about $10/hd with trucking.

not trying to change subject, but how does the order buying process work? Do the order buyers pay for the cattle then you pay them or do you pay the auction barn after he bought cattle for you?

It can work either way.

If you have an account with the salebarn, they will add buyers commission, freight, etc to your account and then pay the buyer & hauler. You pay salebarn the total for cattle, freight & commission.

If the order buyer is buying from multiple sales for your order, or from a long distance, you will probably pay the order buyer for everything.

football and outrigger how many miles are you having these cattle hauled?
