I do but it seems like once the grass is all grazed off and its wet it becomes a mess pretty fast. I have thought about getting a hay unroller but I really don't have the time to feed hay everyday.

A hay in roller is an OK idea, and I bought one, but if you still need sacrifice area(s) if you have big cows or heavy soil or high rainfall or poor drainage or can not feed each day. I have hill sides where I stockpile some hay, and then move cows there when it gets rough. They have quack sod and it comes back after...

We roll out some hay with the arms on our bale beds. Also purchased a hay manger trailer recently so we could beed old bales that the strings have degraded and we can't load on the bale beds. Use a tractor with a loader to load them and then pull the trailer to a site and unhook and let them eat it off. Has worked well and we can move the trailer to a new location when needed.

Farm is located in Camden County which is decently close to the OP.
We run about 1 cow per 10 acres but have plenty of timber to go with pasture.
We also fertilize a good portion of the pasture every year.

So, I would start with less and add in future if you think the land can manage it.
