Have a 350# steer that will eat his grain daily (3# coffe can all grain) an then lay down. He seems to me to pant like a dog. once he has rested after eating his grain he will graze. He is not gaining like the other three with him. Ideas?

Not all calves are created equaly, his genetic make-up may be less performance oriented than the other calves. I would consider increasing the feed intake and see if there is any gain increase. The panting may be caused from poor heat tollerance, try a fan and mister, if these are show steers.
