spring or fall

I was wondering spring calves or fall calves are better. I live in Kansas if the climate has anything to do with. I would really appreciate any input that you could give me.

You will find that it splits about 50-50 as to which people prefer. Both have valid sound reasons. Pros and cons run from weather considerations to higher prices, feed avalablility, nutrition for the dry cow, etc.. Most large herds split and have both spring and fall calving.

we prefer fall calves over spring calves because it is a little warmer for the calves
