driving a tractor on a four lane highway for 3 miles ............never ever! ever! ever! again should have known better but i was in a bind balein' hay, and my goose neck had too flats, and it wasnt but 3 miles. i even had a truck flashing lights following me. folks will plow you under take a backhole too dig you out :(

Its nerve racking for sure. Just wonder where all these people are going in such a hurry. My friends son was hit while moving a tractor a few years ago. Semi-truck ran right in the back of him on a straight 4 lane highway. Driver said he must have suffered from - I don't know what you call it - road hypmotism or something like that. Both escaped with minor bumps and bruises. On the same highway a couple of years ago a mule and wagon team was again hit by a semi. This time the outcome was not good.

I think it's called "lane lock" or "hiway hipnosis" Mabe even "sleep depravasion" ( Yes,I know, can't spell----sound it out)

We've got one of those 4-lanes around here like that. 55 mph speed limit with 80 mph traffic. I'm scared enough driving it in my truck, the tractor drive is terrifying.

there was two men killed on the same stretch of highway a year apart by semi's, there they are running eighty and run up on you running 25 or less,

shouldn't happen here as you are not allowed to drive a tractor on the Motorway or Main Roads. but I can imagine it would be quite frightening, I felt frightened in a car on the Highway when were driving from Amite to Hammond. When those big trucks sounded off their horns.

well it wont happen here anymore either...........................not by me that is..

I know how you feel I was stopped and given a highway patrol escort on I-44 and they told me to never get on there again or they would write me a ticket

I was moving 6 scrapers from 1 job to another and it was only 4 miles on the interstate and about 8 if I went around The Troopers didn't see the humor in it
they would only run about 25-30 mph and the minnimum is 45

I would not go on the Interstate if my vehicle wasn't good for 90 mph. Going faster is sometimes the wisest choice. If you spot a really bad situation in traffic, I'd prefer to be ahead of the wreck.

Tractor'd a 6 row hipper 2 miles down the county road once and that was nerve rackin' enough. Can't even imagine doin' something like that on a four lane! Yes, they will run over you, flip you off and a bunch of other nasty things. I leave the hipper at my other place now.

Seems like about 9:00am and 8:00pm are the best times to move stuff. Not any four lanes close to hear, but I can imagine. Like lava said they love to flip you off, but they never build up enough courage to stop, I doubt they would be that brave face to face, cowards are like that.

Had a service truck from the Cat dealer almost hit me head on on a 2 lane gravel road. I was in the JD 8440 with a 27' culivator behind, winged up. I took the ditch. Idiot stopped and asked where the neighbors Cat crawler was. I don't flipping know.

Even for being this far out we still have the idiots on the road.

The semi driver with the low boy across the road watching a fire. Almost piled up the fire truck into him, truck has good brakes.
The vans full of tourons (tourist crossed with a moron) driving 60 towing trailers down the middle of the road.
The "sunday" drivers who are following right up to where you stop to pick up your mail at your box and they stop right behind you.

I like the 4 lanes much better than the 2 lanes, You don't have to face oncoming traffic and you have 2 full lanes to go down and if someone is not nice you can take it all and give them plenty of time to reflect on their lack of manners.
