Just wondering if anybody here has had luck with the variety of Soybeans called "Tyrone"? It's supposed to be a tall growing, leafy plant with smaller seeds and the ability to produce 4-5 tons of hay per acre.
Am thinking about drilling it in just after I get my ryegrass hay off this May.

We have never used soybean hay. However we bale soybean chaff into round bales. Gives they cows something to chew on through the winter. They a get regular feed of course. They don't seem to mind the bales though.

I don't know anything of that variety of soybeans , but a few years ago we had some late planted beans hit hard by an early frost so a few days later we cut them and baled them and wrapped them as haylage and the cows loved them. I don't know how it would work to get them dry enough to bale as hay. We bale all our bean stalks after combining and use them for bedding . The cows and even the calves like to chew around on them.
