Something to think about over the weekend

Help Support CattleToday:

arf n arf is..... Half ale and Half porter....porter being a very strong ale almost like stout. first brewed in the early 1700's.
'n arf' is half of something....it is a slang terminology what a lot of Londoners use....Cockney. When discribing half of something it is usually said 'arfa'
ie 'arfa cran' would be 'half a crown'. 'dun'arf' meaning 'to really do'. if a boy likes a girl his mate would say something like ' e dun'arf like ah'
but I am changing the subject here. so back on track. I'll stop the cockney lesson, if your interested we could start a new post of English slang again....cheers mate from your 'ol china'....Chrisy. (although this is rhyming slang that is not used much anymore).
