So I blew my brake line the other day on my 2000 dodge 2500 Cummings the guy that owns the shop called me the day after I took it up there and asked if I came and got it during the night I said no. Apparently some d-bags went around and stole my truck 3 dump trucks and a fith wheel horse trailer, I guess they needed my truck to pull the trailer. Of course I only have liability and theft is not covered but rhe shop owner says his Ins will cover. Truck wasn't much but it was mine, I'm glad I took all the guns out but I lost a lot of receipts for the farm and all my records ( I just finished transfering them in a nice hard back book) if they used my truck to pull the trailer they were in for a surprise the brakes still weren't fixed. Haha

What's that old song about mashing the brake to the floor and it felt like stepping on a plum? Can't stand a thief.

Wolf Creek Pass by C.W. McCall

Well, Earl rared back, cocked his leg, stepped down as hard as he could on the brake
And the pedal went clear to the floor and stayed right there on the floor
He says it's sorta like steppin' on a plum

brakes failing is about the best possible outcome!.. Hopefully they find your truck at some point so you can at least get your record book back

They found it. Im going when I get off work to look. Had the trailer hooked, ran off the road hot a tree busted the radiator drive it for a while longer then flipped it in a field. I'll post pics when I get him. But it seems the no brakes bit him in the a $$ . They know who it is but cant catch him.

That is bad.

I'm glad they found it, but is it still covered? Why can't they catch him, if they know who it is?

I figured the brakes would do him in. Frankly its pretty stupid to steal vehicles from a shop, as there is a reason why the thing is there in the 1st place.

I haven't been able to get a hold of the shop owner he doesn't work weekends amd I dont have a personal # . I'll talk to him Monday. They stole another truck and trailer last night. The thiefs family id him in servaliance footage but the cops cant locate him. This is very rural area lots of places to hide out. He has stole 2 or 3 trucks and 2 or 3 trailers within a couple hundred yards of each other. Somebody will get him if not the law the owners

Not that it really makes a difference with the idiot that stole it,, but looks like the air bag didn't deploy...which might have been a blessing for you

It has a heavy generic ranch hand bumper before they stole it I dont know if it was on when they wrecked or they already took it off. I'm thinking that is what kept the air bag from deploying

My record book was there, no check books or 100 gal fuel tank. There was a lot of somebody's tools and a nice stihl saw in the bed. And the weirdest part was there was porn in the bed and cab, DVDs and tore out magazine pages.

I'm going to guess they'll call it a write-off.. truck of that age, they won't spend much time on body work.. Hood, fenders, doors probably are all tweaked, never mine the rad, and there's a good chance the frame got tweaked as well.

And the weirdest part was there was porn in the bed and cab, DVDs and tore out magazine pages.
the darndest stuff comes out from under the seats when something rolls over!

y'know, I was always wondering about your nickname, and if it had anything to do with KY jelly... I guess that question is answered

After I made the name I thought about that also but didn't feel like changing it.

The boys dad found him last night and took him to jail. He came to the farm and apologized and is trying to fix things. He said that his boy said it's a big ring they were told what to get and where to leave it and there would be a bag of dope there for them and someone else would pick it up and take it out of state to be chopped up and parted out. Drugs and stealing are taking over this rural area, time to start packing a gun everywhere, and probably get security for the house for the wife when I'm working midnights.
