Today, my school had its annual open house, and there were all kinds of neat displays!! One of the displays I was involved in was the living bovine anatomy display - enjoy :)

Ha ha ha ha... yes she was!!! It took us between 2 and 3 hours to paint her... and besides 2 minor attempts at escape she tolerated it very well!!! She is a very good girl (appreciating being saved from likely becoming hamburger :p )

TCFC, what's the ratio of women to men in your class? Just curious, seems like many large animal practitioners are now women.

i have a few questions.
first, who painted the heart?
second, what is the function of the ladder?
and third, is that a muffler?

Ha ha ha!

Ok, first, the ratio of women to men...

There are 13 guys and 47 gals in our class (which, by the way, is the most guys we've had in one class in a while... I think last year there were 6. It bodes well for the gals ;) )... and an abnormally high proportion of students wanting to be food animal veterinarians (YAY!!)

And now for the other questions...

It was directed towards young kids, as there are A LOT of children that come through, so we were going for the KISS principle with the heart... we asked the kids questions, and the heart would be an easy one for them to recognize ;)

The ladder is the trachea, we were trying to represent the cartilage rings/ridges in it ;) It's function is for breathing :)

Ha ha ha!! A muffler!! (that's great!!!) Well the gas remnants would come out of there I suppose :p That is a rectum/colon... hahaha

It brushed right off once it was dry, and with a little bit of water she was as good as new... much less time to get it off than to put it on, hahahahaha.
