Sold a few steers

Average weight was 450 lbs . Average price was 149.51 heaviest was 575 brought 747.50 /1.30 lb .
Lightest 345 lbs brought 526.13 / 1.525 lb

Black wf averaged 20 c a lb more than the red wf . On my calves .. I'm disappointed in the light calves .. as the 450 to 525 calves brought as much or more per lb . Same quality calves ..

I started to haul today as I penned and worked them and decided naw.
Not real encouraging JSC but what I expected after sitting through the sales

With the amount of grass we have I'm holding and selling them heavy.

From what I saw today, you need to get them as big as you can. Not much spread on price per lb. I saw $5 to $12 per cwt. discount (or dock) on bull yearlings 600 lbs and heavier.

Ya I saw the same at our local barn. Not much difference.
