Soft hoof on calf

Calf (one of twins) born 48 hrs ago.

I noticed a chip missing from his front right hoof. Went to garb it, and noticed the hoof was quite soft, like it would feel grabbing a stick of summer sausage (best I can come up with).

The other front hoof is harder but not as hard as his back two.

The other twin's hooves are just fine.

Any ideas?

Not a lot you can do - just keep it on good ground or straw and wait.

I suspect it will all work out in the end.
