I just bought a Tru Scale weighing system. I used it for the first time Sat and had a tough time weighing the heifer calves we are keeping as replacements. The aluminum platform has a rubber topping applied and with the rain and mud, it was very slippery. The calves wouldn't stand still as their hooves kept skidding/slidding. Any ideas how to prevent the sliding on the rubber top? We have 48 calves to weigh next Sat that we are selling. Thanks.

I had a smiliar problem so I bolted pieces of 3/8 inch angle thet runs from side to side evry 10 inches

If you don't have time to add the angle irons before Saturday, just use barn lime and scrape off the poop once it gets too deep. You have to zero it between calves anyway. Wash it off afterward before it dries and it shouldn't corrode anything. And it's cheap.

I was thinking shavings.
Ours is indoors, so we do not have a slip problem when we weigh, we just have to keep the poop cleaned up or it builds up underneath.
