Hi, I'm new here and had a question for ya'll, Great site btw.
I bought a young heifer at a livestock auction a couple of weekends ago. When I first got her I noticed something on her neck and above her eye that I thought (and my husband) was dry mud. The next day I notice it was not mud but patches of callused dry skin. Theres not alot of it but a few small patches on both side of her neck and a small amount above one eye. I'm not sure what it is or how to treat it. Does anyone know what this is called or where I can find information on it? Thanks, Stacie

Probably ringworm. Could be warts. Neither are big problems, more a cosmetic thing than anything. You can leave them alone and they will go away eventually or you can treat. Antifungal for the ringworm and if it is warts just nip them off so they bleed a bit, it is a virus.
