I have mostly angus cows.. with some may having a touch of brahman in them '1/8' and maybe a touch of simmental but i was wondering what bull you guys would use with this for the most growth and to really add the pounds. simmental or gelbvieh? No char and im not one of those guys just starting out in the cattle business i know my stuff.. im just looking for an opinion.

Unless your going to use a fullblood simmy, a red purebred Gelbvieh will provide more heterosis as they do not have any Angus blood in them. A purebred simmy already has considerable Angus influence as does your heard. A fullblood from either Gelbvieh or simmental will blow the socks off their purebred counterparts as far as hybrid vigor is concerned.

If I were you I would go with a PB Simm for these reasons:
better weaning weights
better yearling weights
better carcass traits

This is total personal perference, but I much prefer the phenotype of a simangus calf as opposed to Gelbvieh sired calves. I personally thing that you can get equivilent growth out of either mating depending on the bull that you find/use.
