For those of you who raise Simmentals. - At what age do you like to see them have their first calf? Do you believe that they are an exception to the two-year-old rule of thumb? Would they be developed enough for calving at 19 or 20 months?

I would think that should be determined on an individual basis for each heifer. I've had some go to the Bull earlier & others that by about 9 or 10 months I decide they aren't coming along like I want and ship them. Over all average I shoot for calving at 24 months.

if you really want to know about their sexual maturity - puberty age, it has been shown that pelvic area is highly correlated to age of first cycling. you could get a vet to measure them and go from there. or you could go with the estimate of weight. either way, there are few animals that are worth keeping around that dont calve at 24 months.
