I have a cow that is passing mucous rectally. She acts as if she is straining continuously to defecate. She has lots of gas and girgling noises in her belly. She is losing weight, although she eats. She appears to feel ok. I have used penecillin, exonel, medicated feed and dewormed (although only recently). She is nursing and the calve looks fine. Any advise out there.

She needs to be examined by a vet for the cause. It could range from a mass to parasites to Johnes. Sorry I can't be more exact.
