I have a heifer that suddenly has a large swelling in her right jaw and does not seem to be eating well. I have not been able to get her up to see the vet and was wondering if anyone had any suggestion of what it could be.
Something for a vet to look at is Lumpy Jaw or wooden tongue... I don't much more about them than that they present as swollen jaws. A more simple explanation could be that she has gotten into some thorny plants or hay and has a thorn stuck in her gums that is creating the problem.
