once again showmom, you didn't answer your own question.

All you had to do was ask. We have spend as little as 600 buck on up to.......... well lets don't go there.

txshowmom":1tx90jix said:As far as me saying....lets don't go there, I have said many times on this board that we sometimes pay a lot for cattle and I have gotten nothing but hell for it. I only wantes to know what others were paying.
after my post last night, i realized that i don't care what you spend, but i'm still curious why you purchase show calves (heifers & steers) when you have avg price of $16,000 bulls running around in your pastures. if you're purchasing other breeds, it seems to me it'd be a more accurate reflection of your operation and breeding success to show your own.

If memory serves me correctly it was 6 bulls with a $16,000.00 average..
Funny how some people forget what they want to forget.

You are correct. It was a typo we do have six. Fixing to be 5 though we have a buyer for one. Hopefully it will come through. Guess we'll see.
I've never bought a show heifer prospect.. I only show my own. Makes more sense to me to raise / show my own, since I'm trying to advertise my cattle, not someone elses.

Your right bull lady and we do show our own as well.
i just don't really understand why you would want to spend a lot of money on a heifer from someone else's program on a breed other than you raise if you really have cattle the quality and prices you boast. please explain to us the benefit of showing a different breed.
