I have never shown beef cattle before. I have 2 beef steers and 1 dairy steer. I weighted my beef steers on november 16th and they weighted 475 and 495. And my county fair isnt until July so they will be over 1000lbs hopefully. They should shouldnt they. My dairy steer wasnt born until december so I am showing him in a feeder class. I feed my beef steers a 2 1/2 gallon bucket of feed a day plus a bag of sialage. They are in a one acre pasture. I leave them in it all the time. They are in 24/7. I have only tied them up in the barn like twice over night. I will probally start tieing them up in may. I work with them once a day for about a 1/2 hour each. They are leading great. I have to order my show sticks this moth so I can start working w/ their feet.

Sounds like things are going great! Good Luck with them!

Also...I wouldnt tie them up over night, they can get caught up in the rope easily and strangle themselves...
