I synchronized my cows and heifers, and timed AI'd them today, and somehow one of my best heifers came out with a large lump on her shoulder. She can hardly walk, though she can do a mean 3 legged run. She will not tolerate any weight bearing on that leg, and holds it off the ground. I am going to move her back to a pen tomorrow, if I can separate her calf with her. From what I read on here and other forums wait and see is the only real world option. Is that right??? My VET is out of town on a trail riding vacation, and I will call him on Monday, but I guess what i am really asking is should she be euthanized, or should I give it some time? She is a great cow, and I do not want to lose her, but I do not want her to suffer either.
thanks for listening, and I look forward to any advice you might have.

She probably just banged it. Keep an eye on her to see if it improves. If you really feel you have to do something and can get her seperated give her a dozen aspirin mixed in a little grain.
