We have a 20 month old angus heifer, she is laying down alot not eating and very sluggish. No other signs of sickness. anyone have an idea? All the other cows are fine. She is short bred. Has Had free range mag. mineral was fine yesterday she wants to be alone now.

Have you checked her temperature? What kind of feed or pature is she on? Maybe ate something that didn't agree with her. How long has she been this way?

could just be that she's full or tired... Really it's hard to know what could be wrong with her by not being around her and knowing what she is normally like. Some heifers seem to take pregnancy really seriously and really slow down during that time period so who knows what her problem really is if she has one

She is on fescue and bermuda, we keep mag. mineral out all the time. Havent checked her temp just started this morning. She is only on pasture and mineral thats all they get all other cows are fine. No symptoms other than wants to lay down and no appitite. This is not like her.she will get up and walk but then she just wants to lay down again, she will reach for a piece of grass close to her and chew very slow, she shows no interest in the other cows, we were movimg them and they were all balling she never raised her head at them, dosent seem to care that she is alone.

Temp her and go from there.
