We weaned and sold this year's calf crop a little early due to the current higher prices and we were pleasantly shocked. Seven total calves netted nearly $5200 after commission, yardage etc.

They had 1 round of shots, wormed and were weaned 46 days. I was anticipating $1.40 for the heifers and $1.70 for the steers which was where our market has been the last few weeks,

Yes. I have always done the GLA program but thought ahead this year to coordinate everything to coincide with their fall feeder special.

For less than $20 in vet fees and supplies per head it yielded me $150/ head or so more than I had anticipated had I sold on a normal Wednesday. I switched to following the GLA program years ago and have topped the normal Wednesday sale but this was the first time I hauled them to the feeder special. It was well worth the effort in my opinion!
