I bought two South Devons last week. I'm working on getting some more. These are absolutely the BEST natured cattle I have ever owned. I can walk up and scratch their backs. They eat out of my hand. I was yelling today (not at them) and all they did was take one step back. They say they are gentle and they aren't kidding!

Sorry David, South Devon and North Devon (Ruby Red Devon) or more commonly known as just "Devon" are not the same breed. Still interested?

they are the most docile cattle that anyone could have. I can tie one up in preparation for a show, this morning and not be too concerned about it's showring etiquette if I chose to exhibit by the next afternoon. They are docile and their progeny crossed with other breeds are quiet as well. So the docile gene must firmly entrenched. Good on you go out and buy more! Colin
