semen testing

Help Support CattleToday:

Not too young at all. Maybe even the right age. However, I wouldnt be too worried if he has a bad test to start off. THose young bulls need to "clean out their plumbing" some to get an accurate test. If he has tow or three bad tests then I'd worry.

I am looking at a bull that is 15 months old. Is he to young to be semen tested?

No he's not. There are a lot of bulls that are tested at (or before) 12 months of age. There are many bull sales in January through May up here, and a lot of those bulls are just coming up to a year of age in Jan-Mar. They are all tested before they are sold.

yes at 15 months old he can be tested.an if he failed the test i wouldnt buy him.being that young he should test out in the high 80s.70 or below i wouldnt dare buy a bull like that.
