I want to seed some small opening in the wood.
I can get in with a ATV but not the tractor.
What and how is the best to put there?
I live in Minnesota Thanks Jeff

If it's shady and will grow in your climate probably orchard grass

I'm pretty sure it's not the season , but next winter , feed hay there, and just broadcast by hand. Of course depending on what you're sewing , but they will tromp it in.

Thanks Orchard grass will grow good here.
I have trimmed some of the trees to get sun light and have hand sprayed the weeds.
If I could get the big round hay bales in that would be a great way to fertilize and seed at the same time. Jeff

ATV and one section of diamond harrow. Keep going around and around until you turn it into something resembling a thin seed bed. Fertilize and seed with hand spinner, and run harrows over it again. I am assuming the area in question is no bigger than an acre or so or this may take a bit of time.
