have a 600# calf with scours .have given 20cc of penacillen on 1st day,2nd day 12cc , 3rd day 11cc.no results.animal is getting weaker and staggers. also gave 2 cups of peptobismol,on vets instructions. :?:
I,m probally spelling this wrong but it soulds like the calve has cocidous a good large animal vet will give a liquid medicine to put in the calves water. For the life of me I can,t remeber the name. The medicine restores the active bacteria in the calves intestines. Never heard of givinig antibotics as this kills the bacteria in the calves digestive system and makes symtoms worse . In the past when I have had this problem also pulled the calve off of grain went to hay only. :cboy:
