Not a bad price at all. I would have been pleased as well.

how old are these calves when you sell them at that weight?

West Tn. Trenton to be exacly
I sold a total of 4 Bulls I missed banding
1 a small calf Black ( sold mother she looked bad 52 cents a lb/)He weight 215 brought 1.29 $ a lb. 277.35
2 2 both black weight 340 and 365 1.16 a lb
3 a large silver color 3/4 angus Black and 1/4 beefmaster weight 525 ,87 a lb

all born between 15 mar and 15 april the largest by 185 lbs only brought about 50 more $ I have to think the blacks bring better...

Missed them, really? We band calves a whole lot bigger than that. We were the first one in our area to buy a bander and when we went to brandings, hubby would be asked to bring ours along. Now most places have ones of their own. The largest thing I have ever seen banded was a 1200 pound long yearling bull. He did just fine.

$52.00 for a cow? I would not complain. They are going for $38.00-$42.00 around here for butcher cows and they better be fat enough to grade.
