Depends on what Russia's response to Russia going thru with it is.

It appears, that our (NATO's) response is going to be mostly symbolic and financial in nature, not military. If Putin reacts by closing some pipeline valves, watch the price of crude and nat gas go up. Europe gets over 40% of it's nat gas, crude and coal from Russia.

The biggest leverage the West has is to threaten to prevent completion of Nordstream2 pipeline project.

The North Atlantic Alliance was founded in the aftermath of the Second World War. Its purpose was to secure peace in Europe, to promote cooperation among its members and to guard their freedom – all of this in the context of countering the threat posed at the time by the Soviet Union.

Ukraine and its admirers in the United States to secure membership have increased. In February, the slavishly pro‐Ukraine Atlantic Council of the United States highlighted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's plaintive question: "Why is Ukraine still not in NATO?"

The Council featured an article by Ukraine's foreign minister, Dymytro Kuleba, making the case that correcting that situation was long overdue. In September, Zelenskiy pressed Biden to increase his efforts to secure NATO membership for his country. "If we are talking about NATO and the MAP, I would really like to get (from Biden) specifics – yes or no," Zelenskiy said. "We must get clear dates and the likelihood of this for Ukraine."

Biden is taking us to war
A boost to the economy and the semblance of an active leader. For Dems, it is the American way: use guns on other countries and ban them here. Use soldiers in other places and decrease police here. A dichotomy at best. Where Biden will fail is that he will fight Russia and not resist China. Russia has not paid his family enough for the same favors.

It's always been the rich dragging the poor into war, minus political revolutions, but then it was poor folks being duped into believing that they could fix the economic system.

I've always wondered how much money Dick Cheney made off of the Iraq invasion from Halliburton.

This will document that the 'new Cold War' between the US and Russia did not start, as the Western myth has it, with Russia's involvement in the breakaway of Crimea and Donbass from Ukraine, after Ukraine — next door to Russia — had suddenly turned rabidly hostile toward Russia in February 2014. Ukraine's replacing its democratically elected neutralist Government in February 2014, by a rabidly anti-Russian Government, was a violent event, which produced many corpses.

It's presented in The West as having been a 'revolution' instead of a coup; but whatever it was, it certainly generated the 'new Cold War' (the economic sanctions and NATO buildup on Russia's borders); and, to know whether it was a coup, or instead a revolution, is to know what actually started the 'new Cold War', and why. So, this is historically very important.

Let's go Brandon

If we're going to blame the West for Russia's shenanigans, it did not start in 2014. Try the previous decade when former Russian territory started to become part of NATO and the EU.
Anyway, the U.S. is not going to war over Kiev just like it did not go to war over Tsibili in '08. As someone else mentioned, alota noise, some money and some guns is all the U.S. n nato will muster. Nato is an irrelevant institution that is only being kept alive out of habit. A Frenchman or Spaniard is not going to mobilize to save a Ukrainian from a Russian.
The countries responses need to watch from this is mainly Poland and Romania. If russia does a full scale invasion of Ukraine, then u will start seeing some interesting attitudes from the former Eastern Block. Will Poland mobilize and retake the Lvov region if Russia decides to link up to Transnistria? Though the actual red line for the U.S. would be if Russia attacked Warsaw and Bucharest diectly, very unlikely. Baltic states are up in the air though Estonia is making itself "more trouble than its worth" which is a good thing for them. Most of this is Russia jockeying for a better geopolitical position over Ukraine and Putin is hoping brandon will be the first to blink.
Interesting side note, Warsaw earlier in the year conducted war games with an "aggressive eastern power." It should have lasted weeks. Warsaw surrendered in four days. Now they want to double the size of their army and are being more aggressive with modernizing their armed forces.

But original question, yes i think there would be a buying opportunity if Russia launched a large scale offensive.
