I just recently banded some bull calves. It was about 12 days ago and one of the calves shows a bulge on his belly near his penis. Could this be a result of banding or do I have other problems.Thank you for any advice. I just noticed the problem today but he seems O.K. He was in the feed bunk and eating hay also.
Sounds like a navel hernia, get him to a vet to clamp it, or maybe there is another way, the clamp will closs the hernia, dead tissue will drop off, but this can cause death due to a blockage in the gut, or a twist if not quickly repaired.
