Hi, I tried to search this , I'm sure it has been addressed before but I can't find any answers because everything with warm or hay or wet comes up LOL
I have a round bale of hay that has only been sitting outside about 10 days and it got rained on the last couple of days.
It is laying on its side about half ate with some of the core still on top.
I just noticed today that it's getting warm inside because it got wet.
I am surprised because it was in the fifties yesterday and forties today.
There are two cows with young Calves eating from it , is it okay for them to eat?
It should've lasted another week.
Should I spread it out to let the heat out?
Not feed at all?
It is supposed to rain a little more.
Thank you!

Thank you so much!
Was hoping it would be kinda like balage but wasn't sure .
Should i just leave it alone and not open it to cool?

i actually baled my 1st cutting wet. My baler rolls them so tight that 1/2 the inner bale turned into beautiful baleage. The outside half is regular dry hay.
no mold at all. I can't believe it.

Well i meant safe to eat like baleage.
Sorry, should have put that.

Was hoping it would be kinda like balage but wasn't sure .
