roller mills

Hey guys,
Have you ever seen a roller mill with completely smooth rollers - this is right from the factory? If so did they work all right? I'm looking at a roller mill and this is the case - owner says they were smooth right from new and it worked fine for doing oats and barley. I've just never seen one without grooved rollers before.

All the ones i see are grooved and all the manufacturers say that it is what makes them feed.

The only type of mill I've seen with smooth rollers is a New Concept. Uses a small auger to force the grain between the rolls somehow. So if it's not one of theirs I would say the rolls need to be regrooved.
