Roast Recipe

Found this recipe this past weekend, made it and the hubby and friends loved it....
Coke Roast
1 arm roast
1 can of regular coca cola (only regular works)
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 package of french onion soup mix

Brown the arm roast in a skillet. Pour coke and cream of mushroom in the bottom of the roaster. Add roast. Sprinkle onion soup mix over the roast. Bake at 350 degrees for 3 hours, cut up roast into smaller pieces, bake another 30 mins.

Coke is excellent when cooked with a roast. As you pointed out, you must use regular, not diet! Diet will leave a bad flavor in the meat.

Another thought to go along with it.... I brown the roast using Jack Daniels. It puts a great flavor in the meat (and the alcohol cooks out). Give that a try sometime before you add the coke to the meat.
