Retreating for lice??

We treated cattle for lice a couple of weeks ago with Cydectin pour-on. I always thought they needed a second treatment in 2-3 weeks to get rid of the eggs. I just read an extension service article that says that if treated with avermectins (that family of products, Cydectin included) a second treatment was not needed. Looked at the Cydectin documentation and didn't find anything about this.

Question is, do they need second treatment for lice eggs?

The ivermectin products have longer than a 2 week residual affect, so no, you shouldn't need to retreat. If you just used a DeLice type product, than 2 weeks retreat is normal.
