it's value bottomed at $812 in 2008

3M March 31 2004 $1,000 -low $555 2/27/ 2009- today = 2,616

$1,000 in Ford 3/31/2004 today = 1,083

$1,000 of gold 3/31/2004 today = 2,987
$1,000 of silver 3/31/2004 today = 2,789

Just realized... My calculations didn't include dividend reinvestments. Apple, Costco, and Microsoft paid dividends.
