I meant to post this earlier but one of my workers called and told me he was gonna be late today and asked if he could use a work truck for the next week or so. I said sure but can I ask you why ? He informed me his wife used the remote start on his truck this morning and when he went outside to put his kids in the truck to take them to daycare he saw something that looked like a bloody rag under his truck. It seems that a cat crawled up in his motor last night to stay warm and never got out and the remote start didnt give warning enough to get out. He offered me pics I declined and said I understand. My wife used remote start all the time and I hope nothing like that ever happens to us. :yuck:

they have somewhat of fighting chance nowdays with the serpentine belt, and tensioners.. ive gotten alot of calls from customers, that say i cranked my vehicle and got no power steering and my lights are on the dash.. i tell them see if there belt is off... we had a cat named half 'n 'half she crawled up in the shroud to warm up in my grandmaws 64 impala.. no fan clutch back then either split her head open.. right between the eyes, but she lived...

Yea, Thats crazy I had never heard of that before.. I chuckled he said no im serious... I would hate to clean up that mess.

I had a 73 gmc and a cat got between the fan and radiator. I started it up and gave it some gas and then a cloud of fur came out of every opening on the whole front end. Cat didnt make it

A few years ago we had spent all day at the range for my sons hunter education course. There was what the owner referred to as the range cat and i believe his name was glock roaming around all day. it was a nasty day and had been raining so as soon as the class was over we jumped in the truck and headed home about 10 miles we came into the city and stopped at 4 way and I heard something and it sounded like a meow but attributed it to the windshield wipers. at the next redlight I heard it again and switched off the wipers and the noise was still there so I pulled off the side of the road and popped the hood figuring I had a mangled cat under there. it was nowhere to be found until it meowed again It had crawled between the master cylinder and the fire wall and it was wedged in. we finally got it out and took it back to the range it was not a fun ride with him in the front seat.

Had one get in the fan once. Bent a fan blade, chew a big round hole in the radiator and knock out a water pump one time. Pretty expensive fix by the time I was done.

This just happened last week at my dads house. My mom got 2 new kittens about a month ago. Dad hit the key in his truck and heard a couple of thumps. When the fur cleared, one was missing a head and one was missing an ear.

I was driving down the road one day and as we came over a hill and began to slow for a stop light I saw a cat bale out from under the hood of the car in the lane next to me at @ 45-50 mph! It took a tumble into the center median and I never saw it again. I convinced the lady in the car next to me to roll down her window , and with some tribulation asked her if she had a kitty.......;)

Had some typical East Texas white trash that had won the lottery buy the place next to mine.
Bet they had 200 cat's that they put out one can of Purina cat food a day for. All of those cats were as wild as a stripped ape. After a couple of years they were dead broke as most lottery winners with a steady line of repo trucks coming and going. They just disappeared one night leaving everything.
I got really good at cleaning up cat shyt and replacing a serpentine belt on a Ford Super Duty. Crank up the truck and cats would come out for ten minutes. Ole Rube and I took out quite a few. The woods are still full of feral cats .

C.B. that might be the reason turkeys and quail are so scarce around the house.

I figured they had been working the quail over never thought about the turkeys, I take out every one I see.
Actually seen five hens about a mile from the house last week feeding down the shoulder of the road.
That is the first turkeys I have seen since Rita in 2005.

This has happened alot here, especially in winter, they crawl up there after someone comes home, the engine is warm and there they are and usually do not make it out alive the next morning-if they are alive its not for long, too injured to survive- :(
